Exclamation Google+ Local BUG ALERTS - All in One Place

Since we have such a big rash of Google+ Local bugs all at once, I decided to set up a new "Google Bug Tag" to make it easier for you guys to find and keep up with bugs and fixes. As new bugs surface I'll add this tag so you guys can just check at a glance.

I dare say Google has a bug in her new spring bonnet. (Or a few actually!)

So here are all the current Google Bug threads all in one place.

BYW if anyone has been thinking about a vacation, now may be a good time.

New pretty serious bug to be aware of. Could result in compliant listings getting deleted.

Re: Google+ Local BUG ALERTS - All in One Place

Just thought I would mention a bug which has actually been identified to my by google help.

I am located in London, England. My website is a service area business, with no address showing, and was no. 1 on local search maps for over one year, but when the move to My Business page happened, for some reason, my page would no longer 'stick' on maps and would keep falling off.

This has been going on for 5 months now. Google telephone help have re-verified my page and keep constantly apologising, and telling me that the technical department is giving this priority and looking into it.

Yesterday, after apologising yet again, I received an email giving me the id. of the bug in question:

Concern: Listing is stuck in Feature Pending
Research & Action: Received an update from the consult team - the issue is blocked by BUG ID: 17999585
Called up business - spoke with Eva (Owner) - informed about the same.

    CSAT: Yes (C2D)

Just thought this might be helpful to anyone else with a similar problem - ie a bug which Google does not seem to be able to sort out.

    Thanks Eva,

That looks like an internal email or at least the last part is for the internal team and I don't think they meant to send that to a user, but it's interesting to see. I've seen links to those internal tools show up in other emails a couple times too.

Re: Google+ Local BUG ALERTS - All in One Place

Yes, Linda, I thought that was interesting too... it was probably included by mistake, but after my phone conversation with the google rep, i was transferred to one of those 'surveys' where they asked how satisfied I was with the conversation. Although the rep was very helpful, I had to say that the matter has still not been resolved after 5 months, so maybe that is why, as a response to that, he included those internal emails.

Im really wondering whether I would have been better off simply including my address, and whether that would have solved this problem. I was originally given the choice of whether I wanted my address included or not, but since clients have to make appointments, I prefer not to have my address visible to all. I am convinced that this 'bug' is related to this 'hidden address' issue, although after 5 months, I have still not received an answer from the technical team re. what is causing this bug. At first, when my listing was re-verified, it would appear on maps, and then disappear after a few days, and the technical team still apparently cant figure out why that is happening.

Just recently, a friend of mine who has a marketing business which he runs from home, had a similar problem. His listing disappeared, He asked for it to be re-instated, and it was verified again, but appeared with his address showing, even though he had asked for the address to be kept hidden. I told him he might be better off leaving things as they are, as it seems to me that this business of hiding the address seems to be associated with bugs in google's system.
