I like to think of it this way - if you are making a YMYL decision off-line and you had the following options to choose between

a) A company who's CEO you'd seen interviewed in the paper, he appeared on news a bunch of times, and in each case he seemed knowledgable and trustworthy.
b) A company who's name you've barely heard of aside from a late night infomercial you saw that one time... it was late, the reception was bad on a channel you never turn on, and in the ad there were a bunch of "real people" recommending the product. You are pretty sure the "real people" are actors or people who work at the company pretending to be legit customers.

Who do you choose? Option a! (and ideally you wouldn't be presented with option b irl)

This is so on point Callum. Thanks for the old timey analogy. This comes in right as I'm finishing up season 2 of Stranger Things. I miss seeing payphones and playing my NES haha.
