I have a client who moved from one office to another, 1st office was in a strip mall, 2nd is in an office building. When Google started showing this feature (after she moved) they show her current address with the old strip mall name. Grrrr. I submitted edits, GMB forum questions, etc - still shows wrong "located in" info. I've gone in once a week and edited the listing to delete the wrong location, but it still shows up.....

So its a neat feature, but in my experience, completely untrustworthy.

Well the feature seems good for suggesting a business is 'located within' something, maybe not so much for suggesting it's 'not located within' something ;)

The issue of the old 'located in' sticking with a listing after they move to a new address is something we've seen on the forum for quite a while. Contacting GMB support and asking them to remove the label is still the best way to deal with that scenario as far as I know.

I've looked at N a couple hundred listings that have been set up at a Regus office over the last couple years and I've yet to find one Law Firm that actually has staff at a Regus office during the stated hours.

Thanks. I work with Home Service providers & found same (especially bad in Houston & Dallas area)...never staffed but Google keeps them even when reported.

@GMBHelper The best way to ensure ineligible listings are accounted for and taken down is to report them at the GMB Forum.

That is a great question. I'd love to see some testing around this!

I have an ongoing case study that I'm looking at that looks at this. It's pretty in-depth so it's taking me a while to get through.

In my head, it would at the very least clear up some location/proximity confusion because instead of 2 businesses COMPETING for one address, you're telling Gooogle, "No, we're both here symbiotically"

That's all guessing and speculation :)
