Google sure likes to make things hard for Service Area Businesses for some reason.
Phil wrote about another type of Google moderation slap that seems to single out SABs, so I wanted to be sure to share.

The problem comes up if you are an SAB (with address hidden - according to guildelines) and use a Goo.gl link shortener URL when you ask customers for Google Reviews. Google just may remove your link as against TOS and send customers to a nasty page like this instead of sending them to your review page.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Using a Shortened URL to Ask for Google Reviews? <a href="https://t.co/VnPzlEoDTG">https://t.co/VnPzlEoDTG</a> May Cut You Down & Turn it into a Paperweight - Yikes this makes no sense at all, but beware if you are a service area business, or have clients that are: Via <a href="https://twitter.com/philrozek?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@philrozek</a> <a href="https://t.co/dFS4eytPYn">https://t.co/dFS4eytPYn</a> <a href="https://t.co/L2fhERrkcx">pic.twitter.com/L2fhERrkcx</a></p>— Local Search Forum (@LocalSearchLink) <a href="https://twitter.com/LocalSearchLink/status/975731863200391170?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 19, 2018</a></blockquote>

Head over to read all the details on Phil's post.

This just makes no sense to me. Why would a review link for SABs with address hidden [only] trigger removal and a TOS violation page?

I was unaware of this, has anyone had this problem?

Why do you think Google would do this or do you think it's just a glitch?
