BrightLocal Data Aggregator push - Do you have to do it every year?

Would you recommend just submitting manually to each of the 4 instead?

BrightLocal Data Aggregator push - Do you have to do it every year?

Good reference page of the 4 data aggregators and who they push data to: https://www.brightlocal.com/citation-builder/local-data-aggregators/citation-sites-listings-data-destinations-sources/

    Voice Search

thanks for all the great info on this!! Do you have a resource on where you got the character range for voice? Obviously it will depend (Siri vs Alexa...etc), just trying to understand the justification for this best practice. Thanks!

BrightLocal Data Aggregator push - Do you have to do it every year?

Used BrightLocal to submit a client to the 4 data aggregators. For the most part citation building is manual. Since this was a one time cost/ service to push to the aggregators, is there any best practices that say I need to repeat this process with BrightLocal every year to keep things fresh...

    Voice Search

@BipperMedia Your write up was perfect, it was so hard to find this info until your reply. The other thing about voice that is hard to pin down (research wise) is related to length of answer. How long should an answer be? Can the answer be too long thus losing consideration for a voice answer...

Great info! Found this article which lines up with your thoughts: https://www.searchenginewatch.com/2018/11/20/optimize-local-business-voice-search/

How will voice search effect local search

@JoshuaMackens This is a great thread and alot of good info in your initial post! Wondering how your thoughts have changed in the last year regarding voice search? I still don't think the level of sophistication for voice assistants has made any greats leaps since you wrote this.

    Voice Search

@Jeffrey +1 one to that! I am also trying to understand what boxes to tick off in terms of citations or where to list/claim a business so that it is on Google Home, Alexa, Siri, Cortana...etc.

Value of Citations? Citations had little to no impact?

    Service Areas and Physical Address

The way to prove this point is clear and has been already laid out by @whitespark generous offer. If you do this test we will know what if any effect this one factor (service area zip code insertion) has on ranking. That is the only question this thread is asking. Would really appreciate your...

    Service Areas and Physical Address

I doubt you are heading to the gallows for offering an opinion and backing it up with testing the premise of this thread. :) This is a very basic binary test of the Service Area option playing any role in ranking. General consensus on this thread and others that I have read is that it plays...

    Service Areas and Physical Address

@BipperMedia Thanks for taking on this experiment to definitively determine if this one factor (service area zip code into GMB) makes a big difference to ranking. With what Darren has laid out this should be a quick way to figure this out. Please keep us posted on the progress! @whitespark...

    Service Areas and Physical Address

So are you saying given "Correct answer 2" only adding zip codes to your GMB profile would be the singular catalyst to effect better rankings above and beyond what you would of gotten without doing it?

    Service Areas and Physical Address

@BipperMedia Thanks for chiming into the thread. One question for you. You mentioned that for your examples work was done to increase rankings during that time. So if during this time the following happened: Work done by you during that time (so probably link building, citation building...

    Service Areas and Physical Address

@Colan Nielsen Makes sense now that adding service area zip codes will display the map differently than without. So given the latest of what you know about "Service Area", will adding zip codes to GMB (in the scenario listed above) have no effect in helping the business rank better in the map...

    Service Areas and Physical Address

@Colan Nielsen @Caroline S A follow up to this question since I have some additional questions but figured it was better to add them here instead of starting a new thread. Scenario similar to @pwarrenseo 1. Physical, brick and mortar office (verified in GMB) in downtown Denver 2. B2B services...

Yelp: Why new business isn't in Yelp site search?

Love the GI tract comment! lol Yes, I tried searching for it with exact name and zip still no dice. Thanks for your insights, will wait a week or so now that the listing has one review.

Yelp: Why new business isn't in Yelp site search?

Not sure if this is the right section of the forum but here goes. I added a business about in late August to Yelp. The listing says claimed but when you search for the name in the internal Yelp search it doesn't come up. Is it a type of sandboxing thing with Yelp that once it has been...

Are these doorway pages? multiple city and state pages?

Thats for chiming in! I reported them and will go back to working on the clients site to make it better. Better ROI in that after hearing everyones replies!
