    Can't edit a post

Is anyone else not seeing the "Edit post" button? (Yes, I'm logged into the forum.) I've used it a bazillion times. Can't even find it today.

I'm seeing the button for this post, but not for (say) this one: http://localsearchforum.catalystemar...ts-do-you.html

Is this a glitch in the forum - or the start of my Macbeth-like descent into madness?

    Re: Can't edit a post

Phil, the Edit Post option is only enabled for a certain amount of time after a post has been created/submitted (on this forum, it is set to 15 minutes). This limit is to prevent a disgruntled forum member from defacing posts and thereby ruining a thread for other readers.

Once that time period has elapsed, you won't see the Edit Post button.

If you need to edit a post after the edit period has elapsed, PM Linda or me or one of the moderators and we'll take c are of it for you.

Thanks, David. I never noticed that. I guess I was always just within the window of "edit opportunity."

    Re: Can't edit a post

Yes it's like that on most forums and I've been in your shoes.

I'm always editing posts after I post - I just don't notice the typos til I hit enter or think of a better way to say it. Sometimes it works but then when you get outside the window you can no longer edit.

Just PM us edits like David suggested.

Plus David can't we adjust that setting for TCs? Maybe give them an hour to make changes?

I don't think we can set differing time limits but I think we can exempt TCs from the time limit. Let me look into it.

That would be great, David - thanks. The only mischief this TC will make is edit the typo here and the missing word there that make him look like a moron

    Re: Can't edit a post

OK I've added this as a new feature.

Phil, can you verify that it now works for you? Pick any of your older posts - you should now see the edit button and you should be able to open the post and make changes.

Thanks, David. Worked like a chaahm (as people say around here in MA).
