Post Look for Big Local Mobile Growth in Near Future

We all know that the the digital channel is continuing to grow. Advertising as a whole may not be growing tremendously but growth in the digital space is being fueled by a an increasing exodus from traditional advertising options that are no longer cutting it in the Internet age.

Re: Look for Big Local Mobile Growth in Near Future

I personally think this is so true and the trend towards mobile is evidence that this is a step in the right direction.

First off I'm pretty big into social media and mobile (have been into mobile for longer) and have been convinced for some time now how this switch to an always on always connected device is going to be a big deal for companies, and how they treat customers. I mean even look at some of the mobile only networks, such as Path, Instagram, and even Foursquare to a certain degree. Local search is not only more relevant on mobile because it gives you dynamic results on the fly (even desktops can do this), but the fact that its portable and with you almost always is the real power here.

But not only is it advertising, but its deals, and interacting with customers on the fly (Twitter and Foursquare are two big ways that come to mind instantly), etc. As things like tablets move into this space where people are moving much of their regular browsing to a portable device, mobile advertising, and also presence in the mobile front (mobile optimized web page, app development if it applies) is super cool, super exciting, and also quite relevant.

I agree with this move 100% though, and thanks Linda for pointing that out. Very good info, and sorry for going into more of a Social Rant there.
