Lightbulb Local Fitness 2014: My Cheater Treadmill Desk Alternative

Just got a new office toy and wanted to share for anyone else that's looking for a way to stay fit while being changed to a desk all day.

I know more and more are getting Treadmill Desks, but I can't stand much due to my back problems, plus I definitely could not click as many links as I do or type while I'm walking. So I just got an alternative way to exercise while I work and I'm loving it so far!

Here's a video review by Physical Therapist.▶ InMotion E1000 Elliptical Product Review Video

    It's only $89 on Amazon - Retail $199.

Now you def need enough desk height to use it under your desk. I sit in a leather LazyBoy recliner which is the only thing my back can handle - so I sit fairly low to the ground. And my desk is fairly high, so I barely have enough clearance.

When I got this baby last night and was assembling I was a little worried because it's so big, but I found a way to make it work, thanks to my new adjustable ergo keyboard manager.

It's also really heavy and bulky so it's not the type of thing you can just easily move out of the way. In fact the way I'm setup it's so far under my big desk I can barely move it, so when not in use I just am using the pedals as a foot rest.

I'm in physical therapy right now working on back/neck issues, and have been trying to beef up my workouts in general. But I'm such a damned workaholic, I just have a hard time making myself take a break to exercise. Now I can keep working and workout at the same time.

Anyway, 1st of year, everyone wants to focus on getting healthy and staying in shape - so thought I'd share my new toy!

What do you do to stay in shape while you are working?
Anyone here have a treadmill desk?

OK back to work! My boss is crackin' the whip and saying: Get peddlin'!

    Haha Chad!

The elliptical didn't work out! Too cramped to do use it under my desk and too hard to get in and out of my chair with it in the way - since my Lazy Boy is not on wheels like an office chair. Had my recliner on a dolly for awhile so i could slide in and out from desk to get up and down - but I tipped over and crashed too many times. So now it's stationary, which makes it hard to get in and out of pushed up against the desk anyway - without some big heavy machine in the way.

Plus that elliptical does not give you much of a workout either it turns out. So I put it in a corner and kinda forgot about it.

But I'm still rockin' the lazy boy recliner + ergonomic keyboard manager all day every day.
