    New to ORM and SEO

    Hi everyone,

    For a long time I have had a keen interest in SEO and lately, ORM. I have been a frequent visitor to many forums on these subjects (BHW and WF). I stumbled across your forums through Places Scout, which I purchased 10 months ago and never got around to using.

    I am a photographer by profession but wanting to take a break from this industry for a while and try my hand at ORM and SEO here in Perth (Australia).

    Like i said, I am new to this industry but I feel it is one that will only become more needed in the future so I would like to get started now. I am a quick learner and enthusiastic about this industry and looking for some guidance to get a foot in the door.

    If anyone has tutorials or ebooks that they recommend to get me started, i would be truly greatful!

    I am a relatively good sales person and confident to talk to clients over the phone or in person and feel confident to be able to bring in the work, I am however not as confident in being able to produce the work yet. That is where I am looking to get help for.

    I am contemplating outsourcing a lot of the work and being the man in the middle. However, I would obviously prefer to do the work myself, not only to produce a higher income for myself but also so I can personally truly guarantee the work being done.

    Look forward to learning with and from you here on the local search forum and building a relationship with you.

    Cheers,

    Colin.

    Welcome Colin. A good start would be to read each sticky in each of the forums. These pinned posts are typically great nuggets of information and highlighted for a reason.

    Once you get a better feel, start asking more specific questions and you'll start schooling us before long.

    even better than an Ebook are the webinars that are available free on this site. They are a goldmine in information.

    Thanks for the welcome.

    I have downloaded the webinar and will be watching it very soon.

    My first question is this though;

    Is review funneling penalised now or is this still a strong practice for getting just good reviews?
