    Chad Discussion

NOTE: Split this off from someone else's thread - I took the thread off topic.

Hey Chad, just noticed your sig.

I can't tell because you don't show dates on the post or in comments but...

In my post: New Free Google Places Competitive Analysis and Prospecting Software - Google Places Optimization Blog

Does that link go to the new updated software or is that the old?

If you give me a link to the new software and a write up about the update I'll post it in the Local SEO tools section.

If you give me a link to the new software and a write up about the update I'll post it in the Local SEO tools section.

All links to the software go to the same download file, which is the most updated version.

But the link on your blog goes to an old VIDEO about the software, which is fine, the core functionality of the software is the same as that video, just with some updates.

I'd love an updated review! The direct software link is here: Google Maps Cash (feel free to delete that link from this post after you download lol, I know there's no self linking allowed in posts)

ONE MORE THING, the updated video at easylocalcash.com/software does emphasize a more blackhat application of the software, which the users of this forum probably wouldn't agree with. The old video you originally linked to is a bit more mild and emphasizes whitehat application of the software, which is probably more relevant to the interests of this forum. I can give you a good link for your blog post when you're done, just PM me

Re: Citations: Do they look spammy after a while?

We're taking Chris's post off topic, but don't know where to move this.

Essentially I don't have time these days to try software and really review it. And carpal is killing so can't type it all up. Just need an overview I can link to that goes over features and just shows how to use it for competitive analysis. BUT won't link if the emphasis is black hat. Do you have just a general post about the basic features? Again no time to do a write up, would just link to your write up or vid.

Linda, should the new page/video be optin free? or email Optin is ok, like below the video, in order to get the software

Ya I don't really care if you want to do optin, that's fine. They can decide if they want to or not.

Wait, let me be sure this is the software I think it is. My old memory fails me sometimes.

Is it still kinda like GP Scraper in that you can plug in City + KW and it will show you the top listings, if claimed or not, how many citations, what cats, etc?

So you could use it for competitive research and to size up a market?

Those are the features I want your post to highlight if so, not the black hat stuff.

yes that is exactly what it is, creates a market samurai-esque matrix for the 7pack, focusing on citations, reviews, pageclaimed or not, proximity to city center, backlinks to website, etc...

actually your original writeup is still super accurate, not much has changed since you originally wrote it up, except google has changed a LOT so we've upated it so it can keep scraping google.

it also pulls backlink counts from majestic SEO now. But other than that your original writeup is spot on except for using the term "google places" instead of "google plus local". Would be awesome to just reuse it in the new post, is that possible?

    Re: Chad Discussion

Sure I can do that, but it's still Google Places.

In the dash, the business owner side its still Google Places.

Just the consumer facing side was rebranded to Google+ Local.

Then there is also a Local Google+ page which is something totally different.

So I usually still call it Places to eliminate confusion.

    Re: Chad Discussion

Got it, so when you're talking about google places in the article, you're talking about the "local listing" in this chart:

    Re: Chad Discussion

Ya that's the type of page I'm referring to, but that's some new chart where they try to explain and also try to clear up their crazy branding confusion.

HOWEVER in their branding here: Places for Business and here: Google Places Help for business owners and here: https://support.google.com/business/..._topic=3450784 and most of the other help docs PLUS right inside the dashboard itself - it's still branded as Google Places for Business.

So I still call it Google Places to be clear.

Because there is a Google+ Business page (same page different name)
AND there is a Local Google+ Business page which is a TOTALLY different type of page with same name just the words flipped.

SOOOO to me using the branding that is the name when you sign up and is still the name inside dash "Google Places" makes it more clear which page I'm referring to.

FYI I'm not going to get around to that post this week. Have MAJOR email problems I'm fighting to resolve and carpal is killing wkg on that. So maybe this weekend.
