How will Moz Local impact you ?

How will Moz Local impact your Google Places services or training offerings?

This seems like a good tool for all businesses.

In markets with low competition you probably could rank quite easily. How will this impact local consulting and services- are we obsolete?

Well if all you do is build citations, then it could have an impact.

But most local search consultants I know do tons more than just citations and it takes a lot more than just citations to rank. You can have all the citations in the world but if your Places NAP is wrong or you have Places violations. you won't rank in the pack at all. And if your site is not well optimized you may not rank as high or for all the keywords you should.

Additionally the average SMB has never heard of Moz Local. Not yet at least. So smart consultants will use it to do the citations part for clients more easily and cost effectively, freeing up their time and cash for more content generation and other rank building activities.

It is actually just GetListed but selling citations on the backend.

I still don't understand how programs like these can get away with charging yearly for something that is pretty much one-time.
