Top 29 Review Sites for Dentists

I know many of my "Pros" work with Dentists. I also know most of you realize the best review strategy is to diversify somewhat and offer patients/customers a choice of reviews sites instead of only pushing Google reviews. (3 choices is best IMO.)

EZlocal put out a little study this week about the top review sites for Dentists, so I wanted to share.

Top Review Citations for Dentists from Around the Web

The most influential review citations are not only the ones that Google scrapes and displays on the Google+ Local page, but the ones that most often appear on high ranking listings.

The local review space consists of many industry-specific and niche directories within an already fragmented local search arena. The most popular review sites for hotels and restaurants are not the same for dentists and doctors.

Outside of Yelp (whose review snippets were removed from Google) and native Google+ Local reviews, here are the top third-party sources for dentist reviews in the US...
Great stuff Dave! Thanks for posting!

    Couple comments...

"When it comes to dentist reviews (based on the above), Google is really digging Demandforce (Intuit Local) listings -- they must really be pumping them out."

I'm still a Demandforce "Partner" and back when I worked with Dentist's I worked with DF a lot. Even though reviews is not DF's core offering, many Dentists go with DF mainly for the reviews and the ranking boost DF used to give. So it makes sense they would be #1.

"Yahoo Local ranks second (with 53 citations). Is this Google’s way of throwing Yelp a bone?"

I think Yahoo is up there because it's one of the oldest, strongest review sites. So there WAS lots of old mature review content out there which is why I think they are still so high. Kinda funny though, that since Yahoo recently nuked their own reviews and replaced them with Yelp, it is in a way getting Yelp reviews back in Google.

Thanks Linda. This is a constant struggle with Dentist/orthodontists. Its all fine to set up these review funnels, but ultimately they find it difficult to get people to leave reviews regardless of how simple it is. Always looking at options to improve in this area.

Hey Justin, have you talked to Bob at Five Star Review System?

He really specializes in Dentists and his system seems to work well. Lots of Dentists like it.

Let me know if you want a personal intro. Really good guy!

Thanks for sharing, Linda. The feedback is appreciated!

@Dustybones Agreed. My sister is a dentist and has many elderly patients who would love to leave reviews if only they knew what Gmail was, let alone Google+

Two things seem to be working, 1) a post-appointment flyer with step-by-step instructions on how to leave a review on G+L, and 2) segmented patient follow-up emails with links to three review site options.
