    Shady "Anti-Negative" campaign goes horribly wrong. Hilarious!

    Ok so normally I don't post funny stuff like this but there has been a hotel on Yelp that has fined $500.00 to anyone that has left a negative review on their profile. This of course led to an incredible backfire of internet outrage. Here is their profile for a good laugh at some of the reviews. Due to posting policy, I won't post any links to blogs or articles about it so if you would like some, PM me or a simple Google search will suffice. This is on par with Linda's recording of the phone call scammer. HEHE Enjoy!

    They say any publicity is good publicity and there are a LOT of people talking about that Hotel right now - lol.

    It shows that their current 1 star reviews are down to 90 instead of 644, or actually 88, seems like they are falling off.

    Good story though.

    It will probably fluctuate for a while as the self proclaimed internet vigilantes keep spamming them. Currently I'm showing 288 one star reviews.

    I have a sense of humor, but this that they are trying to write off as a "joke" specific to one wedding screams desperation.

    "Please know that despite the fact that wedding couples love Hudson and our Inn, your friends and families may not," reads the company's website. "This is due to the fact that your guests may not understand what we offer - therefore we expect you to explain that to them."

    However, the hotel claims the fine was never a real threat -- merely a joke that the New York Post took seriously in an article published on Monday morning.
    "The policy regarding wedding fines was put on our site as a tongue-in-cheek response to a wedding many years ago," says a spokesperson. "It was meant to be taken down long ago and certainly was never enforced."

    On a good note, somewhere in New York there is a PR firm jacking up their prices!

    ALSO FYI - Joy mentioned this AM that someone marked the fine Inn "permanently closed" on Google maps out of spite. It may be re-opened by now because several people were working on it.
