    Hello from Waterloo Region, Canada

    Hey guys,
First post in here for me.

I've been doing SEO and some local SEO for a bit more than a year now.

SEO has been fine, but the local has been driving me a bit crazy with all the changes.

One of my clients has a "reputation managment issue" and I'm reasearching what I can do to help.

He serves hundreds of clients, but it seems only the few unhappy ones are the ones that leave reviews on his Places listing.

I'm actually wondering whether we should close it and start fresh.

    Hey Patrick,

Welcome to the crazy world of Google Local where we try to help clear the confusion.

Check out our Google Review forum for the best tips.
Or start a new thread there to discuss review issues in general.

OR for more specific help on this client post down in the help section. We have tons of leading pros with experience who are very helpful.

However starting over is NOT the answer. The reviews could possibly re-attach. The problem is likely that there is something in the client's review gathering process that's tripping a filter so good reviews are not getting through. Lots of posts in the review forum will help or post in help and will get specific on this listing.

Welcome, Patrick! It's great to have another Canadian member (some of the brightest Local SEOs I know are from Canada).

Now, this is the first I've ever heard for a 'Waterloo Region' in Canada. Where is that? And, here's an oddball tidbit...last night I was translating the old ABBA song 'Waterloo' out of Swedish into English Funny coincidence for me.

    Glad to have you here!

Re: Hello from Waterloo Region, Canada

Waterloo, Ontario, is arguably the birthplace of the Canadian IT industry. The University of Waterloo was, I believe, the first Canadian university to offer a degree in computer sciences and the area remains a technology hub despite the general economic recession in recent years in Ontario.

Ottawa at one point was often called "Silicon Valley North" but alas for various reasons including mismanagement the major players like Gandalf, Nortel, Mitel, Corel, etc., suffered significant declines over the past decade or so and many have disappeared from the map entirely.

Kitchener-Waterloo is also famous for its Octoberfest.

Technology and beer.... how can you beat that?
