Client has a claimed Google+ Local listing but has no idea of login details. Help?!

    Hi everyone

I have a client who has a claimed Google+ Local listing but has no idea what the e-mail address or password was that was used to do it or when it was done. I don't think there is any hope of them finding out either. What would you say is the best way to tackle this?

    cheers

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Push push push to try and find out what that account was Super important.

Can you post a link to the live listing so I can check something for you?

    Hi Colan

Thanks for you quick response! The listing is

    https://plus.google.com/102767164459...ut?gl=uk&hl=en

I don't think they are going to be able to find out who created the listing or with what email as they seemed to have no clue about it : (

    cheers

There is no way to tell for certain, but I would put money down and say that listing isn't claimed/verified anywhere currently.

Tell tale signs that it's not claimed include:

    • No business description
    • No website
    • No Photos
    • When you hit "Manage this Page" it takes you to a page with what you see below.
    • Name: linda forum 2.png
Views: 205
Size: 52.7 KB
    • Normally, a claimed listing will take you to a Google Places login page when you hit "Manage this page" if it's already claimed.

Anyway, if there is no way to get the login, you really have no choice but to claim it in a new account.

Unfortunately when I tried to claim it went to the sign in screen so I figured it must have been claimed.

    cheers

Interesting. I wonder if it's different for me because I'm not in the UK.

Don't know. So if the listing is claimed (and I cannot access it) should I create a new account and use it to create a duplicate listing? If so, how do I then get rid of the old listing?

    cheers

No. Claim the existing listing and optimize it.

Is the NAP info correct on the existing listing?

No the name should be "learning ladders nursery" not "learning ladders early years" and the address has loads of forward slashes in it for some reason.

If the name is different just mark the old one as closed and open a new feature with the new name.
