I was asked to participate in a group interview piece by Codrut Turcanu but had to decline, due to time constraints.

This post compiles advice from a diverse group of search professionals, many that are not regular names in the local circles I typically read. So this is not your standard "get more reviews and citations" advice. Lots of great tips and insights are inside if you take the time to dig in.

Thanks for the post Linda.

Some good tips but a lot of repetitive stuff for local SEO's.

There is one nugget that I've come away with and that is a link building strategy. The post you linked into Linda can be copied and narrowed down to a local market.

Off the top of my head, here's an example.

A local driving school could create a resourceful post "Auto Tips For [city name] Teenagers". They could then ask local car dealers, car washes/detailers, body repair/maintenance shops, car parts stores, insurance companies and paint shops for any tips to give to teenager drivers. Basically ask any local business in the auto industry.

The goal would be to have any of the local businesses who took part in this share the post on their social channels and possibly link back if they blog. They could also do link outreach on a larger scale and find auto related websites and ask them to link back to their page.

It would take some time thinking of a resourceful post, contacting the businesses and asking for a few tips and to do the link outreach, but well worth it if it succeeds.

That's an awesome idea Jordan.

Could even be combined with a concept sorta like this using something like Gravity forms to collect the data:
