Exclamation Linda - Limited Availability for Forum Support

Yesterday had complete and fatal computer crash and am pretty much dead in the water until I deal with this. More info here.

Am on slow laptop trying to DL 70,000 emails, so this PC is barely crawling. Started trying to DL all the emails yesterday and so far am only up to 2011... so VERY slow.

NEED to log off forum, save CPU for EM DL and to shop online to research best PC to buy.

Then need to leave to go buy PC & take it in to have techs dump the HD from the dead PC. Then spend weekend re-purchasing software and getting everything configured so I can get back to work and play catch up next week.

On top of all that my little 2 year old grandson had to go to hospital last night, so I'll be needing to help fam later today.

So I just won't be here much today and maybe even tomorrow.
It's so great to know you guys will help anyone new that may stop by and need assistance!

FYI If you guys need help on the forum, please PM Colan 1st or David 2nd.

If you need me, DON'T EMAIL me at regular email because I won't get it for days at this rate.

Good luck with all of that, Linda. And especially my best wishes for Benny getting back on his fireman feet ASAP.

Thanks so much David. BUT Benny the fireman is SOOOOO last week! That phase is OVER!

Now he's Benny the Superman Rockstar!

He won't leave the house unless he's dressed this way. Mom just loves trips to the store, as you can imagine. (Especially with Sissy's pink Butterfly boots which used to be his fireman boots, but are now his Superman boots.)

Grandma just bought him an official red Superman cape since that pic, so now he does not have to wear the giraffe blanket as a cape.

    Kids are such a kick!

Thanks David for holding down the fort, I know you are really busy too!

I actually prefer the giraffe blanket.

My sons at that age wore dish towels everywhere...

Re: Linda - Limited Availability for Forum Support

I've had every problem under the sun including having to return the NEW PC. Wait for another one to be shipped, Outlook file corruption, major problems on my backup laptop and more. So spent weekend with tech support and trying to pull emails I need from web mail and setting up Gmail to use as mail server for now. It's been an absolute nightmare!

    More info here: http://localsearchforum.catalystemar...-training.html

So I am still trying to recover everything + working on a slow crippled laptop. Once the new PC comes in tomorrow I need to get it to shop to get my old HD copied over and have them TRY to restore all my Outlook data. Then days of re-installing SW and trying to get everything set up as it was so I can get back to work.

So I will have limited availability here pretty much all week. I'll be checking in and posting when I can, just not as much as usual.

Thank God we have such a loyal group of core members and super mods who are all so great about helping anyone that needs it. YOU GUYS ALL ROCK!

Quick update. Hopefully on the home stretch of this nightmare.

Leaving to pick up PCs, then under gun to get new PCs up and working as this one keeps crashing too. So tied up rest of day trying to get everything configured/working.

    Whoo hoo!

    New desktop totally reconfigured.

Also just tore up office while I was at it and re-did my ergonomics and rigged up something so I can work standing part of day for back relief and to burn a few calories.

Now working on the new Dell laptop which I LOVE and have been dying to set up. Really nice big screen too.

David thanks for all the FF tips. Gave up my old FF and G toolbar and installed new FF with that G toolbar clone add-on. Works great and has sync! So on both FF and Chrome all my bookmarks and settings will port over to new laptop so set-up should really be a breeze.

Great idea Linda! One of my co-workers inspired me to start standing while working last year, and it has been awesome! Switching between standing and sitting while working throughout the day is a recipe for increased productivity.

    Thanks Colan.

Years ago I only worked standing. Past few years I always sit. Now I'm going to try switching off like you do. Planning to kinda do squats and little exercises standing up as I'm reading my feedreader in the AM - then try to do another standing break in the afternoon. Not quite set up ideally to stand. I'm pretty tall
so even with a riser under my adjustable height monitor not quite tall enough to stand for too long.
But anything's better than sitting 12/7. It's just not good for you!

Yes. I use Google Bookmarks (via GMarks) and Xmarks to sync between my laptop and desktop. And then I have Dropbox, Skydrive, GoogleDrive, SugarSync, and Cubby for files I need to access on both.
