OK so here is a very heady article for your weekend reading pleasure.

I know many of the more advanced, technical Local Search Pros in the house will love this one!

From David Kutcher at Confluent Forms

<a href="http://www.confluentforms.com/2015/05/semantic-search-strategy.html">Schema Markup and Microformatting is only the first step in your Semantic Search Strategy</a>

In a sense, this markup (Schema and microformatting) provides a bridge between Seeing the data and greater Understanding of the data. The focus here is on the search engine and giving greater understanding to the search engine entity, but in many ways this is just the first foundational step of your Semantic Search strategy...

As I think you'll agree, there is a lot more to Semantic Search than schema markup and other technical strategies. A comprehensive online strategy that is inward and outward facing, focusing your attention on your Audience and Potential Audiences, can enable you to extend your semantic search strategy and give it depth beyond the markup of your content. It's important to remember that Google and other search engines are focused on fulfilling the user's needs to the best ability of the data available to them, while also seeking to build greater depth in their understanding of Entities.

It is then imperative for you to also focus on fulfilling those user's needs, speaking towards their intent, cultivating a reputation and valuable associations, as a means of influencing the search engine understanding of You.

There is a lot of great info here and part of it centers around reviews, so head over to read

And if you liked that one...

Here's another good Schema related post Susan shared earlier in the week, from Whitespark.

FYI, just occurred to me, we have the largest repository of great Schema posts online.
I bet over 50.

When my RSI heals up a bit I'll try to round everything up and create a new subforum.

But for now you can use the forum search or Google site search to find more. (Google lists 294 results but I think some of those are indiv posts not threads.)

I also set up a #Schema hashtag, a long time ago. But I've not done a very good job of keeping it up, so there are only 15 posts in there right now.

David, the author, just posted in the Pro Community:

"I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this as I believe it extends the practical ways an entity can affect its semantic profile."
