Google Update Confirmed - but not Panda, Penguin or HTTPS related

Dr. Peter J. Meyers posted some ideas as to what could be causing the fluctuations in SERP. We had switched a number of our sites to HTTPS a number of months ago to test. have not noticed in major fluctuations. Gary Illyes mentioned on Twitter that it was not HTTPS related. Do we need to run down the street in a panic? Nope.

The Colossus Update: Waking The Giant

That's 101.8F, one of the hottest verified days on record, second only to a series of unconfirmed spikes in June of 2013. For reference, the first Penguin update clocked in at 93.1.
Unfortunately, trying to determine how the algorithm changed from looking at individual keywords (even thousands of them) is more art than science, and even the art is more often Ms. Johnson's Kindergarten class than Picasso. Sometimes, though, we catch a break and spot something.
    Anyone seeing changes in local?

    Thanks for reporting Justin!

Barry reported this at Search Engine Land too:

Confirmed: Google Core Search Algorithm Update & Expect Future Changes As Well

The Google update from yesterday was a core ranking change, something Google often does throughout the year. This was not Panda, Penguin or HTTPS related.
According to Google this was just one of the hundreds of algo tweaks they make every year.

Is anyone seeing any Local shakeups? The packs I watch look about the same.

I've only noticed a handful of websites move up 2-5 slots Organic, but nothing to run down the street and scream about.
