With the holiday season in full swing, you may be too busy to think about 2016. But once the dust settles, it will be full speed ahead into the new year.

They are drip feeding a single prediction from a different expert each day.
    Here are the 1st 6.

I really like David's point about establishing width instead of just depth in one marketing vertical. Internally we are realizing that almost any size company needs a variety of online assets to be competitive in their space. Thanks for the share!

Re: Local Search Experts Share One 2016 Prediction a Day

There's good one today from our very own Joy Hawkins.

    2016 Predictions: No.7 – Google+ Phases Out, Twitter Rises
    Joy Hawkins, Imprezzio, @JoyanneHawkins

Joy actually makes more than one prediction and they are good ones!

I'd like to extend her wish hope for closed listings, beyond practitioner listings.
I'm really hoping they finally change that messaging back next year to: "Closed OR Relocated" for all listings. In fact I wish they'd offer a drop down and let the business choose. Closed, relocated, name change and no longer here (or something for practitioners that leave).

Great point about the closed listing issue for practitioners. We just did a video where our team discusses the increasing importance of Twitter.

    Well said!!!!

I predict Google will make more money and ads will continue to "trump" pack and organic visibility, let alone the knowledge box will continue to take traffic from websites.

Today's post is really helpful when it comes to helping clients see ROI in a way that may not be so obvious. I agree with the point of moving away from CTRs (in the future) and more toward customer activity.

Re: Local Search Experts Share One 2016 Prediction a Day

One thing that David H. said - "the idea that people will test products in the store and then order on their phone".

I have a client that sells regulare and prescription glasses & sunglasses. Major brands like Maui Jim, Oakley, RayBan, etc.

She told me during the onboarding process that people will come in, try sunglasses on, then type the sku in Amazon on eBay and purchase it right then and there! They do this because they can buy it from one of these sites and save $20-$50.

    How messed up is that?

Re: Local Search Experts Share One 2016 Prediction a Day

    Here are #9 and #10.

2016 Predictions: No.9 – Mobile SEO Drives Local SEO | The Yext Blog
    Marcus Tandler, OnPage.org, @mediadonis

Google has become a mobile first company, with most of their users using the Google search via mobile devices, so offering websites with a good mobile user experience have become a high priority for Google. It’s an imperative to have a well-conceived mobile strategy — using responsive design and responsive content, you can adjust your website to fit all types of resolution, so it can be perfectly viewed on all devices.

Next up Christian from Yext makes some great points...

2016 Predictions: No.10 – Location and Time Take Over | The Yext Blog
    Christian J. Ward, Yext, @wardchristianj

That said, my prediction isn’t that more time and treasure will be spent on mobile ads and local. Hopefully, we all agree that’s obvious. My prediction is that marketers will migrate from using thousands of data points to reach their audience to principally focusing upon just two.

    Location and time.
