So.... now all my store listings on GMB are being tagged as "doesn't accept cash only."

What kind of intern brainstorm did that language come out of?

I don't not understand what that doesn't not mean for payment methods we don't not accept or do not not do accept.

Does anyone else think this is a bit confusing? And why are they auto tagging this?

Opps.. hope I didn't miss a thread. I know I talked about the In-Store Pickup tag and had mentioned the cash-only thing when these attributes were first released, but it wasn't auto tagged then and the verbiage is odd when it's checked.
 
If you are seeing several other incorrect attributes, then I think you are just catching this update for the 1st time.

That's a long confusing thread as we tried to figure it out.
Carefully read post #39 on and it will explain.

IF the above is true you need to accept all 1st. (The 1st time you see all the new/incorrect attributes. Then you can edit as you need to.

IF you've already been through the above then I guess you maybe just need to correct that one field if it will let you.

This help doc explains how to edit attributes, but if your issue is the one I mention above, (1st time attribute update) it does not adequately cover that part.

I can see on one of my listings that Google has added a few differences in the payment types.
On the updates to attributes it shows:
Not cash only
Accepts credit cards
Accepts debit cards

And when you click on those, the display is slightly different.

So yes, Linda, it looks like Google has done another round of updates, depending on the business type.

I'm wondering if the funky wording (which appears now to be corrected) was based on a machine-learning amalgamation of how people are searching for these kinds of attributes.
 
I think Caleb's main complaint was the actual wording, which is indeed confusing. The picture above shows the actual settings when you click to edit, and that's a little more clear.

But if you look at the summary Info page, it says "Doesn't accept cash only" which was either written by an artificial, un-intelligent machine or someone that had trouble with high school English :)

Sure - agree the wording is completely borked. Thought the wording might be fixed now though, as one of the accounts I looked at shows much better wording.
Do you still see the bad phrasing on one of your accounts? Is that what you're saying?

GMB recently started auto-tagging "no wheelchair accessible elevator." ...but we are a one floor operation at all locations.

It just chaps my chicken that we need that type of verbiage attached to our listing. It's not "no elevator" verbiage, it's specifically "no wheelchair accessible" verbiage.
 
Caleb, did you try what I suggested above? Accept all, so you can then edit out the ones that don't apply?

OR maybe if you previously did the accept all on the 1st update, then these you can just do straight edits on?

Can you let me know the case and what problems if any you have with deleting them, so I can let Google know?

The first time around I did the accept all and edited out. This time I tried to refuse all edits, but it keeps coming back for more. I'm more worried about the verbiage than anything else.

Just wanted to make sure that you have the option to check these attribute options as 'yes', 'no' and also un-check them entirely. (not yes, nor no) ;)

Yes. I am able to choose any of those options. Those attributes have been quiet lately but the in-store pickup keeps getting reversed and needs review. Ironically, we will have in-store pickup later this month, but we've never had it before and don't currently have it so I'm not sure why I keep getting suggested that we do. Is this driven by the Local Guide program?
 
I think the point to be made is that businesses want to promote what they HAVE to offer, not what they DON'T HAVE to offer. If anyone can relay this message to G that would super fantastic.
 
I'm just kind of done with this. I feel like I'm dealing with the amateurs at Yelp. I've gone through and marked every option accurately. 24 hours later there are attributes unchecked or changed to the opposite of what I had selected.

It's never ending...

I agree Caleb, after many rounds of editing to our specifications my edits reverted back to where they were prior. With over 200 locations I do not have the time to continue. I can only trust that at some point Google will accept my edits. Also, as I stated earlier, perhaps in a different post entirely, we never want to publish what we don't offer, instead we want to feature what we do offer.
