OMG Tim. That's the one you shared in our Hangout with Google today, but I didn't have time to investigate further.

Hey guys, click that link Tim shared: https://goo.gl/maps/VX5XF5PdWjS2

Scroll down in left sidebar to see the other businesses
. Almost all are using that same trick and I think many of those listings are all the same company.

MAJOR spam and MAJOR Maps algo fail!

There are 2 listings with this name:

PROFESSIONAL "PAC KERSMOVERSMUMBAI (spelled just like that)
And the site is a lead gen site.

So much scum in these listings!

Re: The Day Google’s Spam Algo Died - Online Ownership

It is horrendous and what got my goat was the Spam team was not even phased, OMG

This has been an issue for around two years now. How difficult is it to limit numerical numbers to say 5 ( to cover postcode ) which will deal with the tel numbers being inserted in the address.

The add a character limit into the address field, any thing over goes into pending status.

This is not rocket science, yet G can't get a grip on this, and or don't give a monkeys

How in the hell does that get through their quality algo? That's the most blatant spam I've seen in local.

I assume this a reason why MapMaker is being killed.

Re: The Day Google’s Spam Algo Died - Online Ownership

This is the fault of addresses in countries where they are allowed to add in descriptors because the addresses formats are so poor.

However, its not rocket science, provide a character limit or say 300, if it exceeds that it should automatically go into pending status and not live.

The other issue is adding tel numbers into the address lines. I have flagged this to GMB hundreds of times over the past 2yrs.

Is it really that difficult to add a filter for say any numerical number sequence of 6, which should accommodate the post code but dis-allow a tel number.

This is not rocket science .... or maybe it is
