Google: When You Switch To HTTPS There Is No Rush On Indexing Or Deindexing
by Barry Schwartz, Search Engine Roundtable
August 13, 2018

Google wants you to relax about when migrating from HTTP to HTTPS - do not panic about what pages are indexed or not indexed.

Gary Illyes said on Twitter "Redirect them to https and then wait." "Just give it time, there's virtually no reason to rush it, since users will still end up on https," he added.

Here are those tweets:

@methode I just moved from http to https. What should I do to deindex all http pages and index the https pages?

Replying to @methode
Yes I redirected it to HTTPS. One more thing is, if I update the whole website (more than 200 pages) how to request Google to crawl and index.

Google has said HTTPS migrations should be done all at once and should not result in traffic loss.
