In GBP reporting, do the Direction Requests include users with a location saved as work?

We are seeing more direction requests than expected and wonder if that could be inflating the numbers.

Driving directions have always been inflated but more recently this seems to be an issue across the board with spikes in driving directions being reported this year multiple times. Google does include users with a location saved as work if they click the "get directions" button and then navigate to work.
