Looks like Google Places Bulk Upload is almost ready for a big upgrade that's been a long time coming which includes multi-admin, and full social Google+ functionality.

+Nicolai Helling 1st alerted me about the multi-admin and his post is at the bottom.

Also included below is a link to Mike Blumenthal's post with more details including links to Google help docs that talk about your ability to post to bulk pages too.

So it sounds like full upgrade to G+ is almost ready for bulk pages.

I assume that's what my meeting today with Google is about. So will let you know more after meeting,
and once Google is ready to make a public statement.

1st up... HERE IS LINK TO NEW HELP DOCS that mention multi-admin and social features

Changes to bulk location management - Places for Business Help

Upgraded accounts

Exciting changes are in the works for upgraded accounts. Once you’ve been upgraded, you’ll be able to:
<ul>
<li><a href="https://support.google.com/business/answer/4620143">See the status of locations on Maps</a>.</li>
<li>Use an updated interface that makes <a href="https://support.google.com/business/answer/3480441">data conflicts</a> with your information visible and actionable.</li>
<li>Manage access to your locations by <a href="https://support.google.com/business/answer/4669095">adding and removing managers</a> and <a href="https://support.google.com/business/answer/4669094">transferring location ownership</a> - <strong><span class="red-text"><em>New!</em></span></strong></li>
<li><a href="https://support.google.com/business/answer/4620143">Make updates and posts</a> to your customers using the Google+ page for your location - <strong><span class="red-text"><em>New!</em></span></strong></li></ul>
We’re currently moving existing users to new features in stages. These upgrades happen automatically; we’re working hard to make them available to everyone as soon as we can.

Stay tuned for even more improvements down the road.
Here is Mike's post:

<a href="http://blumenthals.com/blog/2014/04/30/google-bulk-multi-admin-seen-in-the-wild/">Google Bulk Being Upgraded to Google Plus Capability | Understanding Google Places & Local Search</a>

Nicolai Helling of the United Digital Group is reporting on Google Plus the upgrade of the Bulk Upload to allow multiple administrators. Apparently this upgrade will add full social functionality as well.
Here is Nicolai Helling's original post.

I'm sure this upgrade, once it hits, will make bulk users very very happy!

A note on the staged upgrade process. We have several clients (all of our clients are enterprise, bulk users) whose Google Places accounts have been "upgraded" to the new, faster data pipeline for updates to listings. These accounts are distinguished by having the status of listings on Maps in the bulk platform. However, none of these "upgraded" accounts have access to the auto-upgrade feature to Google+ Local listings, and therefore do not have access to the multi-admin functionality as of yet. Multi-admin is tied to Google+ social features, which will be rolled out after the initial upgrade. Once the listings are auto-upgraded to Google+ Local listings, the verification badges will also be added back onto the listings.

Welcome Sara!

Thanks for joining and for weighing in on this.

You are one brave lady!

Can't even imagine some of the challenges you've been through, since I've never even considered dealing with bulk listings. But hopefully where this is all heading will make everything much easier!

Hi Linda,
I am very excited to see these new features rolled out to the bulk tool! I have found a few accounts that have been upgraded. I want to start using the bulk verification process since I have many large locations and hoping I will be able to add a couple locations at a time as my clients acquire new locations. Do you have any idea how to go about getting a Google account manager? This is one of the optional fields when requesting verification in the bulk tool. I will try to attach a screenshot. Considering the volume of clients I think it would save Google, my clients and myself a lot of time if I could work with one account manager.

Hi Cody,

Sorry I don't know off hand BUT I think that's just for super big agencies or accounts. I think I've heard of major major accounts that seem like they should have a dedicated account manager yet don't. For example I think Mike works with Sea World a pretty big account and I don't believe they have a dedicated account manager.

@Cody, here's what Google says about that field:

Google Account Manager: List the name or email address of any Google contact you have been working with. It is important for consistency and continuity across Google products to keep your Account Manager aware of your Google Places for Business account standing as this may have an impact on other Google products, including Offers and AdWords.

I can say that in all my time verifying bulk uploads, I've never filled in that field (it's not a requirement), though I do speak with Google regularly regarding any issues with verification or listings. Maybe if you ever contact Google with an issue through one of their support channels, and you receive an email back from a person, perhaps you can use their name/email address in that field for future bulk verifications :)

Thanks Linda and Sara for the info. It would be so nice to work with the same person for the sake of consistency. I will be sure to share any valuable information I find! Thanks
