Hey,

We've always had our address displayed with google and want to keep it this way rather than changing to SA.

We recently moved. We put in our new address, waited for the card to turn up. It turned up, popped in the code.We waited awhile and reached out to google support. They wanted a picture of our store front. We done this. Then they wanted a utility bill. Sent this also.

Our case has now been sent on to the "specialist department" and we're waiting. Our case has been with this department now since November 12th. So just under a month. We've emailed them several times since then and had no hope.

We've changed our address on our website, directories, social media, etc.

Should we wait it out, or just change to SA?

We really dont want to as we know it will kill our rankings but our current listing says we're in Suffolk when we're in Norfolk. Here is a link to our listing: Him and Her Wedding Photography

Thanks,
Lisa

Is the listed address an actual office where customers can come to book photography shoots?

Yes and No.

We hold meetings at our location. Pre-client and post wedding meetings but they're by appointment only. A lot of our competitors have their address displayed and we know they run their business exactly the same.

I wouldn't think it matters that it's by appointment only but from Google's standpoint they'll want to see that the address is staffed during regular business hours if only to answer the phone and make those appointments. I see you have listed business hours on Maps but 7 days a week, 8.30 am to 9.00 pm? Is it really staffed all that time? Also your website has a contact form and mentions that you will respond via email but I don't see a phone number anywhere on the website.

Still, let's wait for one of the Local Experts to weigh in...

We work from home so one of us is always at home 90% of the time. We took our mobile number off of our website due to spam calls and it worked. Should we put it back on in googles favour?

As I said, you should wait for one of the Local Search Experts to comment before making changes. My point was that looking at the unrealistic (i.e., from a staffing viewpoint for an office in a two-person business) hours shown on the Maps listing and the fact that no phone number is available on the website kinda says SAB to me and I suspect that's what GMB may be having a problem with.

I'm confused, what exactly do you mean by "Google won't let us display address"? Do you mean they won't let you change the address, and so your current listing is still your old address? You should be able to click on the "Location" (screenshot) and add the address, is this not working?

In addition to updating your address on important directories, add pictures of your new storefront to the google listing. Also add a Google map to your website. And I would DEFINITELY add a phone # to your website. Living with spam calls is, unfortunately, part of life these days.

You might also check for duplicate listing at your old address.
