How Long Does It Take for New Google+ Pages to Go Live These Days?

I am working with a client who just started a new business. I created a new Google+ page for him. We waited a solid 2 weeks for the post card to arrive but it never did (hasn't arrived even to this day). I was able to eventually get it verified via Google's phone support. This was about 2-3 weeks ago now.

The page is verified and "ready to go" but it's not connected to Google Maps. I've called Google a couple times now and every time I call they tell me the page is verified and ready to go. It just needs to connect with Google Maps before it will go live. They keep telling me this will take 24-48 hours. Well it's been 2-3 weeks and the page still isn't connected to Maps.

Is this the normal process? And does it always take this long before a new page goes live? It's been ages since I've had to create a new Google+ page so I don't remember how long it takes.

Here is a link to the page in question:

Thanks,

Travis

Travis, that page is a business listing and not a G+ Local page. It won't show in SERPS or even when your do a brand search. It will only show if you do a brand search in G+.

When you set it up, did you set it up as a store front in GMB?

It is a local page. I thought the same thing at first - that it was a business listing - but it's not. The Google rep I talked to said that's what a local page looks like until it officially connects to Google Maps. That's what we've been waiting for - for it to connect to maps so it becomes an official local page and goes live.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do if it doesn't go live soon. I'm reluctant to delete it as it might cause more issues (i.e. creating a duplicate).

It might be just semantics. But that looks like a Brand page to me, no review button vs the local page that has reviews, followers, posts, YT vids, etc.

It doesn't look like it was set up correctly from the start. In my experiences, once a Local page is verified, it doesn't take very long to show a KG and show in maps (less than 48 hrs) for a brand search.

Yes it looks like it to me.

Essentially it's just the G+ or social part of the page.

Same thing happens in reverse. If you have a normally fully verified G+ Local page but have a violation and Google deletes the local part of the page... You won't rank in maps and what's left looks like this with just the social features.

However Scott is right, it's normally pretty fast. I'm thinking maybe it's under review for some reason and has to wait for a human to look at it? Anything questionable with name or location???

That's exactly what the Google reps keep telling me...that it's "under review" but should go live within 24-48 hours. I asked them if there was anything suspicious about the address and they said no. There shouldn't be as he definitely has a location there as shown by the pictures of his office on the contact us page. We also submitted a copy of his lease agreement to Google (the first Google rep I talked to requested a document that could prove his location).

For some reason, it seems Google has an issue with this address even though everything is totally legit. I'm just not sure what I can do at this point beyond sit and wait.

P.S. One of the reps I talked to pulled up his location in Google street view and didn't see his office but then he realized the street view was taken 3 years ago. This is the same rep that requested a copy of a document to prove his location. I'm wondering if some bonehead in the Google Maps department is going strictly by the street view.

Hey Travis,

Linda's response was right on. This is a Local Page and is under review for some reason. Usually it doesnt take too long (couple of days) for G to review it and set it live. I work in the Bulk Feed quite a bit and those go live in a day or so once I get a solid rep on the line who can take care of it. Sounds like you didnt get one of those guys...

You may want to keep calling G support to make sure they stay on the review but most likely they are already working on it. Make sure you get a reason they left it in review for so long. They probably wont give a real reason but it doesnt hurt to ask. Most of the time it is because they cant match up the Map Pin with the address.

Travis, there was talk of delays in the process when an edit to the profile is made in between the time you send out the verification and when you verify with the pin. I have never seen this happen though. Did you do any edits in this time period?

No, I didn't make any edits specifically for that reason. Hopefully this will go live soon. Based on the feedback here it sounds like I just need to keep pestering Google and be patient:)

What I hear about normally happening in that case, if its a significant edit, like a NAP change after the PIN is triggered - that PIN will then become inactive when you try to use it and you'll have to verify again. We get complaints at the G forum all the time about PINs not working and usually it was due to an edit.

Good news...the listing finally went live today! All told, it took 3-4 weeks for this page to go live. Geez. I'm just glad it's up now.

Thanks everyone.
