I have a question for the tech-savvy & G+ experts!

We're trying to crawl our clients G+ pages and record categories, but Google seems to pick and choose which categories they show in the source code of the page.

For example, we'll have in the G+ Dashboard:
Dental Clinic
Dentist
Teeth Whitening Service
Orthodontist
Dental Implants Periodontist
Cosmetic Dentist
Emergency Dental Service
Endodontist

But in the source code we'll have:
Dental Clinic
Teeth Whitening Service
Orthodontist
Dental Implants Periodontist
Cosmetic Dentist
Emergency Dental Service
Endodontist

Sooooo a) Does anyone know why? b) Is it important that "Dentist" isn't showing up in the source code?

:)Thanks!

oooooohhhhhh that could be a good one Kate. Silly me I never check source code!

When you check edit details is Dentist listed in cats?

If it IS in edit details but is not in view source, would you mind sharing the listing so I can take a peek? Privately via PM is OK if don't want to share publicly.

It does show in "Edit Details". In the source it says:
,["Categories:",[["Cosmetic Dentist","cosmetic_dentist"]
,["Dental Implants Periodontist","dental_implants_periodontist"]
,["Dental Clinic","dental_clinic"]
]
,[["Cosmetic Dentist","cosmetic_dentist"]
,["Dental Implants Periodontist","dental_implants_periodontist"]
,["Dental Clinic","dental_clinic"]
,["Emergency Dental Service","emergency_dental_service"]
,["Oral Surgeon","oral_surgeon"]
,["Teeth Whitening Service","teeth_whitening_service"]
,["Endodontist","endodontist"]
,["Pediatric Dentist","pediatric_dentist"]

Compared to page 1 "City + Dentist" contenders:
A IN MAPS: ["Category:",[["Dentist","dentist"]
B IN MAPS:
,["Categories:",[["Cosmetic Dentist","cosmetic_dentist"]
,["Dental Implants Periodontist","dental_implants_periodontist"]
,["Emergency Dental Service","emergency_dental_service"]
C IN MAPS:
["Category:",[["Dentist","dentist"]
D IN MAPS: ,["Category:",[["Dental Clinic","dental_clinic"]
E IN MAPS:
,["Categories:",[["Cosmetic Dentist","cosmetic_dentist"]
,["Teeth Whitening Service","teeth_whitening_service"]
F IN MAPS:
,["Categories:",[["Dental Clinic","dental_clinic"]
,["Emergency Dental Service","emergency_dental_service"]
G IN MAPS:
["Category:",[["Cosmetic Dentist","cosmetic_dentist"]

Soooo it seems that if you have only the "dentist" category, it shows in the source... but if you have other categories you can't be a dentist.
So now the big question: What does it MEAN? :)

Thanks for PMing me the example Kate. For other's benefit, yes Dentist does show in edit detais.

Also found this in source of the listing in question:

,[["","gcid:dentist"]
,["","gcid:teeth_whitening_service"]
,["","gcid:dental_clinic"]
,["","gcid:eek:rthodontist"]
,["","gcid:dental_implants_periodontist"]
,["","gcid:cosmetic_dentist"]
,["","gcid:emergency_dental_service"]
,["","gcid:endodontist"]
,["","gcid:eek:ral_surgeon"]

(Too funny the forum reads : o without the space as a smiley.)

For awhile gcid:whatever was showing in cats and I wondered where it came from. Think it was cats that were pulled in from some datafeed and the gcid was not supposed to show in cats.

But anyway, Dentist shows there.

===================================

Not sure what this means, because I don't know what's in dash on this one.

But I checked a Chiro listing. In edit details Orthotics and Medical Clinic are in cats. They aren't in source. So in this case I assume those cats were scraped and added and therefore are in MM but not in dash.
